Greetings from kumbo. I wish to inform you of the confirmations we have in Djottin parish this week. About 35-40 cadidates will be recieving the sacrament of Confirmation in the parish this week. The Vigal General, Rev. Fr. Peter Watson Starts with Confirmations in the parish tomorrow 23rd till Friday 25th March. He will go to all the three zones of the parish for these confirmations. Also interesting is that he will celebrate a reconciling mass in Din-zone following the bad behaviour of the people when the first missionaries came to Din. These missionaries were beaten and sent away. the church that was built there at that time was burnt by the inhabitants of Din. So Fon Solomon and Fon Stephen both invited the Bishop of Kumbo to say this reconcilatory Mass in their land. They believe that this bad behaviour of the ancestors has been a curse to the Village for the past centuries as there is no rapid development in this village.
We are all sad in the Diocese as we lost a priest Rev. Fr. Willem who stays at meluf. He died yesterday morning. He was just discovered dead on his bed. He is from Holland may be Stefan, martina and Ulf saw him during their visit. May his soul rest in peace! This is the only bit of news from this end.
